Definition

Members of the Anglo-Catholic movement at Oxford University. Founded by John Keble, they published Tracts of the Times to revive doctrines like apostolic succession and sacraments as means of grace while also branding popery and Methodist as deviations from the true faith. Many of its members later converted to Roman Catholicism.
