The visible or invisible wounds of Jesus Christ that appear on the body of a saint, mystic, or victim soul. These wounds typically include nail marks in the hands and feet, and a wound in the side. The appearance of stigmata is considered a sign of the reality of Christ's passion and a manifestation of their co-suffering with Christ.
