Definition

Minjungsinhak in Korean, literally means "the people's theology," arose in South Korea in the 1970s. The emergence of the theology is characterized by the consciousness of both the historical and contemporary suffering of the Korean people and called for the reinterpretation of the Bible from the perspective of the poor and marginalized.
