Definition

A nonconformist sect that separated from the Wesleyan Methodists, owing to differences regarding church organization. They believe in the equal lay representation with ministers at Conferences. In 1908, the Methodist New Connection merged with the United Methodist Free Church and the Bible Christians to form the United Methodist Church.
