Definition
A figure appearing in Genesis 14 who is described in the New Testament (Hebrews) as being without recorded genealogy, serving as a type of Christ. His priesthood is distinct from the Aaronic line because it is not based on ancestry. He served as a prophet-priest to point people toward the Great High Priest.
