Schools divided into classes for boys and clerical aspirants. They included grammar and choir schools, while the bishop oversaw the theological education of the clergy.

Definition

These schools were separated into two classes: those for boys and those for clerical aspirants who had mastered the elementary subjects and wished to continue their education. There was a grammar school, and a choir school run by lesser officials, while the bishop kept control over the theological education of the clergy.
